2009 Infiniti FX50 with 390 Hp V8 Unveiled in Geneva


Infinite second generation large size SUV was revealed today at the Geneva Motor Show. As you can see for yourselves in the official images, Infinite designers kept the exterior styling evolutionary though we must say that the new FX looks a bit more aggressive than its predecessor. Unique features include the distinctive side air vents have been added behind the front wheels and the signature double-arch front grille.
The interior, that has been completely redesigned, includes an Infiniti signature “double-wave” instrument panel and white-and-violet electroluminescent gauges. Notable features include the available sport seating and advanced audio, navigation and entertainment systems and the Infiniti Intelligent Key and Around View Monitor system. The Japanese carmaker promises improved handling characteristics thatnks to the refined 4-wheel independent suspension and large 4-wheel disc brakes with available opposed-piston brake calipers. Moreover, there’s a new, available FX Sport Package that includes a Continuous Damping Control (CDC) suspension, Rear-Active Steer and 21-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
Initially, the 2009 FX will be offered with a new 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 390 Hp and 500 Nm that replaces the 320 Hp 4.5-liter V8 of the outgoing FX45. the new FX50 will be joined by a V6 powered model, details of which will be announced later. The all-new FX50 will be available in North America in June 2008 and in European markets starting from October 2008.
